I am inspired by director/composer teams like Hitchcock and Herrmann, Leone and Morricone, and Spielberg and Williams; partnerships that have harnessed the power of music to create some of the most iconic moments in film history. I approach film scoring as a musician and a filmmaker, creating music that supports visual and narrative storytelling, increases emotional impact, and enhances the overall tone of the film.

I spent the first two weeks of November composing the score for a fantastic short film entitled Avelline's Window. I recorded the score with a great ensemble of flute, harp, violin, cello, and piano. The score is subtle and sophisticated, with a truly unique sound. This project shows that with a little creative thinking it's possible to use live musicians on low budget productions. The film is scheduled to premiere next month, so I'll have more audio and video samples then. For now, here is a short piece of music from the film.
